Krown Makes Donation to Southport Family Whose Pit Bull Saved Teenage Son’s Life

We were touched by the story of a Southport boy alive thanks to his 2-year-old male pit bull named Ace that woke him up from a nap during a devastating house fire. Nick Lamb, 13, was born without the ability to hear, so the smoke alarms couldn’t wake him up, but his pit bull Ace did. Ace was able to alert Nick and awaken him by licking his face.

“I couldn’t hear anything because I had my cochlear implants off. … My dog Ace smelled it (the fire),” Lamb said. “I just wanted to get out.”

Fortunately, this story has a good ending. And it’s stories like these that touch our hearts but also makes us diligent about informing the community about products that help save lives and give peace of mind to parents and loved ones.

Krown is donating a visual and tactile emergency/fire notification system to Nick and his family.
